The Book House accepts books, audio books, comics, and vinyl records as trade ins toward the in-store purchase of used books and other items. The books do not have to come from our store to be considered for trade in.
Books published in 2019 receive the full publisher’s price in credit.
Books published in 2018 receive 50% of the publisher’s price in trade credit.
All other books receive $3.50 for hardbacks, and 25% of the cover price for paperback books.
What We Take
Mass Market Paperback & Trade Paperback
Hard Covers - if in demand, with their original dust jacket.
Books must be in good/great condition with no rips, no pages missing, no stains, no water damage, and little to no marking.
We love all books, but due to demand and space limitations we do not take out of date technical books, older textbooks or encyclopedias. We refuse the right to refuse any book for any reason.
PLEASE BRING NO MORE THAN TWO BOXES OR TOTES AT A TIME.
Your credit lives under your name in our system and as long as The Book House exists, so does your credit! You do not have to keep up with any slips-simply give us your name at checkout.
How Credit Works

We love local and first time authors. If you are interested in having us carry your book in our store, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Our requirements are below:
We read each and every submission that we receive. We do not read every book that is submitted to us, (but we wish we could!).
We do not carry books that are available for free online.
Your book must be available for us to order through major US book distributors. If you are self-published, in order for us to carry your book, it must be published on Createspace with wide distribution settings enabled.
Please do not send books to the store unsolicited. We do not have time to read them and we don’t want anyone spending unnecessary money.
