Now open in our new home in Smyrna! The Book House is a South Cobb tradition. We pride ourselves in meeting the diverse needs of our community by providing a rich selection of new and used books, comics, and vinyls.
The Book House first opened in 1976. Currently on its 5th location and 5th owner, we are moving with a sense of community and purpose into The Book House’s fifth decade while maintaining our historic ties to the community and the personalized customer service our customers have experienced throughout the store’s history.
The Book House is home to tens of thousands of book titles, in addition to comics and vinyls. A carefully curated wide selection of hard to find genres, which includes a robust romance section (the largest in the Southeast!), a dedicated cozy mystery department, a large Western collection, hard to find vintage Sci-fi titles, a rich collection of books by African-American authors, religious books, a varied Nonfiction department, manga, out of print comics, along with a robust selection of new books allows us to serve a variety of customers.. We purposefully maintain a large children and Young Adult section and stock required reading from our local schools. Additionally, our mix of used and new books allows us to meet a variety of book and budgetary needs in our community, which we draw from Mableton, Austell, Smyrna, Atlanta, Lithia Springs, Douglasville, Villa Rica and beyond!
